Today’s world is fast. We get what we want when we want it. This convenience gets in the way of long term progress. Because we are used this idea of immediate satisfaction, we often choose the more convenient option – even when we shouldn’t.
Picture yourself in your warm, cozy bed. Your alarm goes off at 6 am. You’re supposed to workout at 7, but its much more convenient and comfortable to hit the snooze button and skip the workout. In the moment this decision is great. But in the long run, you miss out on the health benefits of exercise. This idea can be applied to several scenarios, but the principle remains the same.
We need to sacrifice short term satisfaction to progress towards our long term goals. Its not easy, but if you want something you’ve never had, you must do things you’ve never done.
